Six Flags Over Georgia is the closest theme park to the Volta homes and the easy answer when the teenagers want a day that isn’t the pool. Goliath, Twisted Cyclone and Georgia Scorcher are the big rides; Bugs Bunny Boomtown covers the younger kids.
Hurricane Harbor water park is on the same site in summer. Go on a weekday if you can — weekend lines double. Bring a change of clothes, and expect to be back at the house with tired kids by dinner.
